Swimming with wild creatures brings me great joy — which I endeavour to convey in my mosaic art.
While swimming with sealions might not be everyone's passion, whatever inspires you can be transformed into a stunning mosaic.
I was inspired to create a series of works that embody the sense of presence I feel when swimming with sealions. Each sealion has a unique personality and forms distinct relationships within the group. Some are incredibly curious, while others are more reserved when encountering me. I envisioned three pieces that could be displayed together or separately, capturing the magic of being with these creatures.

In ‘Brothers - Sealions in a Turquoise Sea,’ I used footage from my GoPro, manipulating the images to create a composite design.
The Making Process
I cut shards of tile to give an organic feeling of fur. I applied the shards much more intuitively then previous work.
